In Person Location

568a Remuera Road, Remuera, Auckland 1050

Please walk down the left-hand side of the white garage and come through the courtyard on your right. You will enter a kitchenette/waiting room. I will collect you from here when it is time for our session.

Please be mindful when attending morning or afternoon sessions that there are clearway rules for parking (cars are towed during clearway hours).

There is no parking available on site, however, there is street parking available on Tahora Ave.

First Session

The first step after reaching out will be for us to arrange an initial consultation.

An initial consultation is a standard 50 minute session. During this consultation I will gather some basic information from you, and we will explore what has bought you along to counselling. We will also discuss what your hopes and goals are for sessions. The most important part of this consultation is for us to get a feel for each other (finding the right person for you is very important - let’s see if we are a good fit!).

At the end of our time, and if you are comfortable to move forward with sessions, we will discuss the time and frequency of sessions moving forward.

Zoom Sessions

When attending sessions, it is important that you have privacy.

Find a place where you can talk privately and without interruption. If there are other people in your home, it can be helpful to ask them not to disturb you during your session.

You may also like to switch notifications and phone ringers off and bring along a drink and some tissues, so the session is free from distractions.

  • If you are unfamiliar with zoom it may be helpful to ensure this is installed and ready to go on your phone or computer prior to the session.

Fees

The fee for each session is $115.00 + GST ($132.25).

Invoices are sent from Hnry and these sometimes go to junk mail – please keep an eye out.

Invoices can be paid via bank transfer or credit card.

Invoices are generally sent within 24 hours of your appointment, if you do not receive one, please let me know.

Payments are to be made within 72 hours, and further sessions will not be completed if there is a balance outstanding.

  • If you are interested in funded sessions, please check out the ‘Funding’ tab of my website.

Confidentiality

Unless you grant me permission to disclose anything we have discussed to another individual, everything we discuss will remain completely confidential.

The following are the only exceptions to this:

  • If I think you or someone else could be seriously at risk of harm. (My intention will always be to discuss this with you first wherever possible).

  • I am required as a counsellor to attend regular supervision and use this space to discuss my client work.

In New Zealand, supervision is mandatory for all registered counsellors. This includes discussing our client work with another qualified counsellor to make sure we are clear on our individual processes and how to keep our clients and ourselves safe. The same ethics and confidentiality rules that apply to me also apply to my supervisor. I speak about my clients without giving away any information that would make them identifiable.

In Public

I'm happy to be approached by you, but I won't approach you if we cross paths outside of our sessions. This is to avoid you having to explain to anyone you may be with how we know each other if you do not wish to.

Between Sessions

I am a private provider of counselling services. Counselling is provided via prearranged, scheduled appointments. Two Chairs is not an emergency service. I am not able to respond to urgent or emergency matters and my communication channels (phone, text, email) are not monitored outside of standard business hours.

There are many providers who offer crisis services - please see list here: https://mentalhealth.org.nz/helplines

Let’s chat.
